Equity Talks Event Series
Event 1: Finding Purpose and Hope in Anti-Racist Activism
Racial inequity is at the forefront of the national conversation. Engage in a “fireside chat” with a leader in the racial and social justice movement and learn ways to use your own strengths and advocacy in the movement for anti-racism. During the event, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about race, injustice, and how you can work towards becoming an equity-minded changemaker.
The Real Deal:
Former Early Admitted Applicants share their real life experiences as corps members
Current corps members who applied early to TFA discuss life in the corps. Join us to hear about a “day in the life” as a teacher and learn about corps members’ transitions from an Early Admitted Applicant to the corps, hear about real-life challenges teachers are facing as a result of the pandemic, and help brainstorm solutions in real-time. After a panel discussion, attendees will go into smaller breakout groups to engage directly with the panelists.
Design Your Impact Masterclass:
Prepare for Classroom Impact in Your Region
Begin preparing for next year as a classroom leader by designing a Vision of Impact. In a three-part series, participants will be guided through the steps of self-exploration, learning about their regions, and determining how their specific value-add and personal vision might come to life.
Dates: October 9th - 16th
Sign up for TFA's "One Day" Volunteer Program
In this program, TFA will match volunteers with corps members’ classroom projects around the country. Volunteers will spend a few hours each week virtually supporting their matched corps member’s classroom.
