The following timelines outline the requirements you must complete to teach in Duval County Public Schools as a highly qualified teacher and Teach For America Corps Member, as well as when you can expect to receive needed information. You are required to meet all deadlines as stated in your specific Timelines and Expectations document. Please reach out to Kiara Drummond at kiara.drummond@teachforamerica.org if you have any questions or concerns about these expectations. 

NOTE: More detailed information and instructions about each action item will be emailed in our monthly editions of The Coalition Chronicles, our Incoming Corps Member newsletters. The below list is not exhaustive and additional required action items will be added as needed.
Requirements and Expectations Timeline - Please click on the link below that applies to when you were accepted into the Jacksonville Corps:
  • If you were accepted in November 2020 or earlier
  • If you were accepted in December 2020
  • If you were accepted in February 2021
  • If you were accepted in March 2021
 
​Additional Action Items:
  • Optional - Apply for Transitional Grants and Loans from Teach For America through the Applicant Center
    • The sooner you apply for transitional funding, the better!
  • Complete your Personal Information Form (PIF) through the Applicant Center
  • Send a copy of your unofficial transcript to kiara.drummond@teachforamerica.org 
  • Update your resume and send your "teacherized" version to moniquerae.valerio@teachforamerica.org for feedback and support from regional staff​
  • Attend Monthly Incoming Corps Member calls - Registration information will be shared prior to the event
    • Sunday, April 11
    • Sunday, May 2
  • Mail 1 hard copy of your official, degree-conferred transcript to the Florida Department of Education by Friday, June 11, 2021
    • Varying costs, please use the following address:

  • Mail 1 hard copy of your degree-conferred transcript to the TFA Jacksonville Regional Office by Friday, June 11, 2021

  • Apply to the Florida Department of Education by Friday, May 28, 2021 - $75 fee
  • Complete 2021 Corps Member Pre-Work by Friday, May 28
